PILGIRMAGE TO WALSINGHAM 2007

Thirty three pilgrims set off this year on Sunday May 13th for Walsingham. They represented the Parishes of St. Catherine of Siena at Lowton and St. Lewis at Croft, Ss Mary & John's and St. David's,Newton-le-Willows. Sadly, the weather was poor for most of the time, but no one got very wet and none of our planned events were cancelled. The Pilgrimage was based at the Anglican Shrine as in previous years. The Pilgrims did their walk to the village on Monday afternoon along the Pilgrims' Way concluding it with Mass in the wonderful new Church of the Annunciation in Friday Market. On Tuesday afternoon we celebrated Mass at Langham Carmelite Convent, and in the Church of Reconciliation on Wednesday. Each morning the Pilgrims gathered together for Morning Prayer in the Barn Chapel and in the evenings attended Services either iin the Anglican Shrine Church or at the new Catholic Church. We departed after celebrating our own Mass in the Church of Reconciliation. Pilgrims from St. Paul's in Burtonwood joined with us for some of the days in Walsingham.and we were delighted to welcome them.
